Spread between cotton & PSF increases

National yarn output completed 2.437 million tons in June, an increase of 271,000 tons, or 12.5 percent year on year and from January to June; it reached 12.695 million tons, up 16.9 percent year on year.
As of June, total cotton yarn production touched 21.641 million tons in 2009-10 cotton year, an increase of 3.094 million tons, or 16.7 percent year on year.
China's textile and apparel exports realized $18.67 billion in June, up 33.8 percent year on year and in the first six months of 2010 reached $88.85 billion, up 22 percent year on year.
In June, average price of 32 cotton carded yarn was 26,532 Yuan/ ton, 2,028 Yuan / ton or 3.8 percent higher than the previous month. Average price of polyester staple fiber was 9618 Yuan / ton, 504 Yuan / ton or 5 percent below the previous month.
The spread between standard grade cotton and polyester staple fiber was 8158 Yuan / ton in June, which is higher by 1,469 Yuan from the previous month.
