Following US are Qatar, Germany, UAE, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Sweden, France, Lebanon, Canada, Austria, Britain, Kuwait, Australia and Denmark

Currently, Iran is the world leader in exports of hand-woven carpets. Carpet-weaving is one of the most renowned expressions of Persian culture and art and it hails back to the historic Persia.

Around 1.2 million Iranian weavers manufacture carpets for both local markets and global exports. The country manufactures 5 million square meters of carpets on a yearly basis, of which 80 percent are sold in world markets. In 2007, Iran had earned $750 million from exports of carpet.
