Kanna Lakshminarayana, Minister for Major Industries recently while speaking to the press spoke of the government's proposal to come up with two textile parks in Guntur so as to add value to the cotton manufactured in the district.

The Minister informed that, two parks were planned to take shape at Bapatla and close to Budampadu in Guntur rural mandal. He further divulged that, once the two parks start operations on a daily basis, they will utilize almost 30 percent of the yarn.

While speaking on industrial development, he said that the Chief Minister, K Rosaiah was pretty keen to expand industrial base in Andhra Pradesh. The Minister also said that, the proposed Solar City project was also likely to take shape in Guntur.

Construction work with respect to Apache Park at Guntur, for which the government gave both permission for the due construction and also provided land, will be unveiled by Rosaiah, said the Minister. The company would spend around Rs 500 million in its initial stage, would also generate employment for the youth.

This investment of Rs 500 million would steadily be raised to Rs 2 billion, he said. Also he added that, the APIIC has plans to enhance infrastructure in Autonagar.
