Hohenstein Institute, a leading global provider of textile testing and certification services, has expanded its service offerings in the Americas. Since announcing its aggressive plan to make its services available in all countries that are important textile and apparel markets, Hohenstein has invested in infrastructure and personnel in the Americas.

The newest Hohenstein office was opened earlier this year in the Dominican Republic. Hohenstein has offices in the United States, Mexico, Colombia, El Salvador, Brazil, and Peru as well as in sixteen countries in Europe and Asia.

In June, Hohenstein Institutes conducted a training and strategy coordination conference for its colleagues in North and South America. Directors from the seven American offices met in Miami to explore market trends in global textiles and US retail, regulations affecting textiles and apparel, and new testing procedures and certifications available for their clients. The annual global conference is designed to ensure that Hohenstein executes a cohesive business plan throughout the region and remains a leading textile testing and certification provider there.

“The Americas are critical textile and apparel markets,” says Sam Moore, managing director of Hohenstein America. “As these regions enjoy a resurgence in strategic value to US retailers and brands, we will ensure that the quality and safety tests and certifications that these companies require are accessible in any country where they do business.”

Hohenstein Institute is a founding member of the International Oeko-Tex Association and a leading provider of the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Certification which tests textiles to ensure that they are free from harmful levels of at least 100 substances believed to be dangerous to humans. Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Certification also addresses US CPSIA requirements for children's products and European REACh requirements. Hohenstein also provides many other performance certifications such as for UV protection, antimicrobial functionality, odor control, and hypoallergenic effectiveness.
