Bijapur District Minister, Murugesh Nirani recently announced that, the historic city of Bijapur will soon see a mega textile unit, which will be built on around 100 acres of land provided by the State Government at Mayalabagayat Industrial area.

While addressing a press conference, after unfurling the national flag on occasion of Independence Day at the Dr BR Ambedkar Stadium, Nirani further added that, the concerned textile unit is being developed by APCA Delian Company at a cost of Rs 5 billion.

With the commencement of operations at this unit, jobs will be provided to almost 5,000 people of the district, added Nirani. The mega unit will be inaugurated on August 27 by the Chief Minister.

However, there are certain disparities in the sourcing pattern of electricity to northern parts of Karnataka as against South Karnataka, but Nirani has assured that, this would be taken care off after detailed analysis of the matter.

Nirani also revealed that, six other industries are interested in making investments to the extent of Rs 100 billion in Bijapur and Bagalkot districts, and further added that, the State Government has assured to extend requisite facilities to all these units.
