China's total textile and apparel exports reached US $91.345 billion in the first half of this year, up 22.26 percent year on year, accounting for 13 percent of the country's total exports, according to China Textile Industry Association. A

Among them, textile and apparel exports in June grew by 34 percent year on year and 13 percent from the previous month, reflecting that the industry has basically recovered to pre-crisis level.

The European Union, the United States and Japan are still main markets of China's textile and apparel exports and shipments to these three major markets indicate a rebounding trend.

In the first half, China's textile and apparel exports to the EU, the United States and Japan went up by 18.54 percent, 28.18 percent and 1.49 percent, respectively and exports to these markets together accounted for nearly 50 percent of China's total textile and apparel shipment value.

In particular, China's textile and apparel trade with the ASEAN was very active in the first half, due to the influence of preferential policy that gives China's textiles and apparel exports duty free access to 10 ASEAN countries.

Chinese export enterprises can complete their processing in ASEAN, and then re-export to Europe and the United States markets, in order to effectively avoid trade friction and reduce trade risk. China's exports to ASEAN are expected to maintain substantial growth momentum throughout the year.
