The Tasmanian wool industry was considered as the keystone of agriculture formerly. Now it is re-emerging yet again, to regain its lost glory.
The state is again experiencing an increase in its wool production after the drought, which lasted for a period of three years.
Due to intense rain, the farmers are experiencing bumper wool production and the output levels have gone up high.
This year, the rains started at the most appropriate time, particularly for wool producers.
Last year, the region recorded only 50,000 bales of wool production. This was because of the decline in the sheep numbers during the last three years. The growers are anticipating to fill over 10,000 bales of wool this year and the rise is expected to last for several years to come.
