Seminar by TAI Mumbai has a grand success

Mr. Balaraju specified that association like TAI should have joint venture with Govt. for training program in Bhiwandi to take benefit of skill development scheme. Mr. Balaraju also brought to the notice that Coimbatore Cluster is running 50% efficiency due to effluent pollution problem. According to Mr. Balaraju, there are 4500 processing units all over India having no registered association. There should be region wise textile associations to take care of regional problems.

In all, there were 7 technical papers presented during the seminar.

Mr. Errol Fernandes, Asst. Manager, Business Development (Exhaust), DyStar India Pvt. Ltd. presented the paper on New Developments in Cotton Yarn Dyeing. He emphasised on less water concept in dyeing cotton yarn with higher RFT, effecting less effluent load and reduced chemicals consumption and CO2 emissions to protect environment.

Mr. Chirag Panchigar, Product Manager (Polyester Dyes), Colourtex Industries Ltd. made presentation on One Bath Dyeing of Polyester / CDP Blended fabric. He narrated factors such as properties of CDP and polyester fibres, ionic nature of process auxiliaries, efficient pretreatment, proper dye selection and optimized dyeing cycle which should be considered to get faultless single bath dyeing of polyester / CDP blended fabric.

Mr. Parag Kamde, General Manager Sales-West, CHT (India) Pvt. Ltd. presented the paper on Value added finishes for Cotton and Blended Fabrics. Mr. Kamde has talked about different speciality finishes which adds asthetic as well as technical values to cotton and its blended fabric.

Mr. Pravin More, Dy. General Manager (Tech. & Mktg.), Jaysynth Impex Ltd. made the presentation on Water Source / Crisis and New Technology in Dyeing and Printing. Mr. More has discussed importance of water quality and its usage in processing to implement water conservation and water effluent produces during different stages in processing. He has also suggested to implement novel technology of dyeing and printing to minimize effluent load.

Mr. Pranav Gayatri, General Manager, Sales - West and Head of Dyeing Auxiliary, Clariant Chemicals (India) Ltd. made the presentation on Pollution Control and Eco Friendly Products. Mr. Gayatri specified the importance of pollution Control and Eco friendly products based on 4 Es i.e. Ecology, Economy, Efficiency and Environment.

Mr. G. V. Kakde, Retired Jt. Director Industries, ICC, Dept. Industrial Safety & Health, Govt. of Maharashtra explained about Safety in Textile Processing Industry. Mr. Kakde have in his talk given awareness and importance of safety in textile processing to avoid accidents during various processes. He has detailed about precautions to be taken with respect to mechanical, chemicals and fire hazards with advice to adopt safe policies.

Mr. V. C. Gupte, Head–Colour Business, Advanced Graphic Systems made the presentation on Importance of Computer Colour Matchings. Mr. Gupte elaborated how colour matching system works? Its basuc applications and various benefits of Computer Colour Matchings at laboratory, production and company levels as well as its economic benefits.

There was good interaction between participants, who posed many questions to the speakers and same were answered very promptly by them. The organizers of the seminar were happy to note that the objectives of the seminar are fully achieved.

At the end, Mr. A. V. Mantri, Hon. Secretary, TAI, Mumbai Unit proposed a vote of the thanks.
