Orissa Govt to sell two cooperative spinning mills

In a meeting held by the CCD Cabinet Committee on September 27, the Orissa Government has resolved to sell the Kalinga Cooperative Spinning Mill in Govindpur district and Orissa Cooperative Spinning Mill, in Bargarh district.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik chaired the meeting convened at the Orissa Secretariat. Finance and Excise Minister, Prafulla Chandra Ghadei, Industries Minister, Raghunath Mohanty, Planning and Coordination Minister, Ananga Udaya Singh Deo, too attended the meet.
Prior to this, on November 14, 2002 the Cabinet Committee had decided on privatization of the Kalinga Cooperative Spinning Mill. Following which, Oriental Agency while bidding for the property deposited Rs. 61.6 million by way of down payment, but later on the agency withdrew its bid.
