An historic occasion for INVISTA, owner of the LYCRA fibre brand and one of the world's largest integrated producers of fibres and polymers, as it brought together the UK's top retailers and brands for an exclusive evening with legendary comedienne, Ruby Wax.

The event 'Laughing with LYCRA fibre' combined stand-up comedy with the LYCRA fibre brand to create a unique and exciting platform for an audience of over 75 key market players that included nine top textile brands and eight UK retailers.

Highlighting its commitment to both its customers and retailers alike, INVISTA is passionate about educating the industry in new engaging ways. The evening used humour to showcase the benefits of the LYCRA fibre performance in legwear garments to reinforce the added value the brand brings to consumers.

To ensure that the event was one-of-a-kind, INVISTA worked closely with well-loved comedienne Ruby Wax who treated the guests to a performance that outlined her appreciation of the LYCRA fibre brand whilst basing her show on her very own perspective of the heritage and versatility of the brand.

Serge Vigouroux, executive vice president, Apparel marketing business at INVISTA said, “We were absolutely delighted to have worked with Ruby Wax to put together an original perspective on our brands for our guests which was truly an innovative mix of education and comedy.

“We like to think that Ruby and our invitees now have an in-depth knowledge of LYCRA fibre; knowledge we hope to replicate in others by making this performance the cornerstone of a new retailer education programme for 2011.”

The evening also celebrated INVISTA's latest legwear innovation, LYCRA Fusion fibre. This revolutionary, run-resistant, patent-pending technology helps prevent scratches in tights from turning into damaging runs.
