The Punjab Government since the last two days, has amplified load shedding for factories and CNG Stations in the State. The load shedding which cropped up as a result of heavy shortfall in gas supply from major gas fields in the region is seen to go on till November.
The gas supply from gas fields including Dakhni, Qadirpur and Zamzama has yet not normalized. Consequently, Punjab is facing the adversities arising due to this gas crisis.
Faisalabad which is considered the textile hub of Pakistan, witnessed shut down of over 400 textile factories and 350 CNG Stations on October 6. For every single day that the gas supply remains suspended, the investors are bearing a loss of Rs. 100 million, a textile organization stated.
