PX, PTA & ethylene post strong gains

Paraxylene price remained strong with a gain of US $55 / ton in the last three days. PX continued to remain firm in S E Asian market and stood in the range of $1110-1115 / ton. Downstream buyers still tried to pull down price in the range of $1100 / ton. In Taiwanese market, offer price surged up to $1120 / ton.

PTA price also opened with huge gain in tandem with upstream. In S E Asian market, price of PTA near about $1000 / ton, but was traded in the range of $985-990 / ton. In Indian market, offer price surged to $1000 / ton but trading concluded around $995 / ton, then highest in Asian markets.

In S E Asia, ethylene market recorded gain of $30 / ton. In the S E Asian market, ethylene offers mainly stood around $1060-1075 / ton. In Japanese market, ethylene was quoted in the range of $1070-1080 / ton.

MEG price increased in tandem with allied PET raw materials to $900 / ton in S E Asian market. Sellers continued to quote at level of $900 / ton but deals mainly concluded in the range of $885-890 / ton. In Chinese market MEG was in the range of RMB 7400-7600 / ton.

Trading price of PET chip in S E Asian market was in the range of $1200-1220 / ton. Offer price surged up to $1250 / ton, but no buyers responded at higher prices.
