Ethylene output in Japan slipped in September 2010, when compared with the same month of 2009 by 12.1 percent and also from the previous month by 7.3 percent.
Ethylene production reached 557,100 tons in September 2010 when corresponded with 635,500 tons in September 2009 and 600,700 tons in August 2010.
The decline in the previous month has been attributed to a planned maintenance shutdown of a naphtha cracker, which was not the same in case of September 2009.
Exports of ethylene fell 5.8 percent to 205,100 tons in August from a year earlier. The July export figure stood at 198,000 tons, down 10.9 percent year-on-year.
