Globally recognized cotton firms are expected to take part in the sixth International Uzbek Cotton Fair which is going to be held on 13th and 14th October in Tashkent. The main purpose behind this fair is to motivate trade and enhance business relations between Uzbekistan, which is the third biggest exporter of cotton in the world and the other exporting countries.

The country has an efficient network of transportation and well established shipment corridors through which cotton can be exported. The textile industry has the capacity to store 400,000 tons of cotton in its 23 cotton terminals which are specifically used for this purpose.

The Cotton Trade Fair will be the major attraction of the two-day international expo. Apart from this, deliberation and negotiation on various themes associated with the domestic as well as global cotton and textile industries are going to be held.

Participants are also expected to attend a cotton trading session on the country's product exchange system.

The first Cotton Fair of the country was launched in 2005 to generate more global awareness about Uzbekistan's future prospects with regard to cotton exports and the country's ability to expand its exports over the globe and reinforce its business relations with the buyers.
