Mysore Silk Factory which is gearing up to commemorate its anniversary is soon to get a new state of the art facility as the demand for its silk sarees is rising beyond expectation.

Consumers prefer these Mysore silk sarees over several other brands, for its excellent quality and charm. Due to which, the saree's produced by the Mysore Silk Factory are highly in demand. Thus, in this scenario of rising demand, the new facility underway would help the factory to boost its production of sarees, Yogeeshwar stated.
As of now, the factory already has 18 retail outlets across the State, and is eyeing to launch more such outlets in Basaveshwara Nagara in Bangalore, Chennai and Kanchi to earn better recognition for its products in the market and to expand its reach. Not only this, KSIC is also likely to launch its outlets in foreign countries, he said.
KSIC, which last year sold products worth Rs. 660 million and was able to generate profits of around Rs. 80 million. KSIC churns out 450,000 metres of silk sarees annually, i.e. around 75,000 sarees each measuring around six metres.
