Angolan economy is seen to earn an enhanced competitive edge in international trade as the irrigation project for cotton cultivation enters in its second stage.
The second stage of the project taking form near Sumbe city, in Kwanza Sul province, would involve construction of a training centre to impart training to local cultivators as regards various techniques for producing cotton; and infrastructure rebuilding.
The first stage of the project which lasted from 2006 to 2009 was targeted at developing a pumping system to ensure adequate supply of water for irrigation purpose, and drew an investment of US $31 million.
