Cotton Emporium draws CWG visitors

Cotton Emporium, with the intention to draw all Commonwealth Nations athletes, officers, delegates and other visitors, has launched a handloom and handicraft items expo in Delhi.

This exhibition-cum-sale named “Master Creations” was organized by the Government of India's Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India Ltd. (CCIC), a body under the Ministry of Textiles.

The expo organized at CCIC's showroom at New Delhi's Jawahar Vyapar Bhawan, showcases various handloom and handicraft items prepared by the national awardees, and is to go on till October 20.

At display at the expo are exclusive hand-made masterworks meticulously prepared by well-known 'Shilpgurus' and 'National Awardees', who are winners of prestigious awards presented by the Hon'ble President of India, and whose works are admired by the art connoisseurs across the globe.

Various handloom and handicraft items like artefacts, metal ware, pottery and marble craft, furniture, dress fabrics, shawls, stoles, home furnishings, priced Rs. 500 onwards, are being displayed at the expo.

Athletes and officials representing different countries made it a point to visit the emporium and take back memorabilia's to their home country.
