The J & K Government has pledged that only deserving silk manufacturing factories would be allotted a space at Zakoora Silk Park. The government also stated that it is well aware that sericulture is amongst major revenue generating sectors of the state.
The government emphasized that, as Kashmir was the place of origin of silk and people all across the globe would prefer buying silk from here. Further that, though Kashmiri silk has unmatched texture and fascination, but it is sad that over a long period no heed has been paid to the sector.
The State Government stated that it would make sure that the Industries Department accelerates the process of development of Silk Park, so as to generate confidence amongst silk cultivators by getting them involved in the Silk Park activities.
