Cameron Holt, the world famous wool judge from Australia, recently lauded the alpaca producers from UK for the superior quality fleeces that they now produce.

Holt, in his speech at the end of day one of a four-day judging spell at the National Alpaca Fleece Competition going on at the Plane Castle, Airth said that, he was really amazed to witness the UK's alpaca industry's development, since he last visited the Kingdom, two year's back.

He divulged that, a few of the superior quality fleece priced at £80 to £120 for every two kg were no less than the Australia's Merino sheep fleece, in terms of quality. Technically speaking, the best alpaca fibres can be as thin as 15 microns, which is perfect for preparing high fashion garments.

Buoyancy, a feeling of suppleness and thermal properties are the qualities which better symbolize the luxury alpaca yarn, which can be utilized to produce garments, right from the day to day knitwear to high fashion designer suits.
