Managing Director of the Scotland's oldest textile firm, Hawick Knitwear, saved the company from closure by purchasing it from the owner Mr. Harris Watson.
Regardless of the number of redundancies and closures in the region, Benny Hartop – the Managing Director, anticipates a better future for the company.
He further said that 2009 proved as a successful year for the company and this year too it is expected to deliver its budgeted profit, he stated hopefully. He further added that this is the most appropriate time to purchase the business.
He is optimistic about the company's success on account of the skills, enthusiasm and flexibility possessed by the company that employs 200 workers and its ability to compete with the other manufacturers of Far East in producing the textile products.
