Chemical fibres & its products post sharp decline

On November 15, PTA price was under adjustment, MEG price declined, semi-dull and super bright polyester chips fell, CDP slice and PET bottle chip prices, eased. Acrylic staple fiber 1.5D × 38mm and acrylic top 3D × 102mm prices adjusted, CPL price consolidated, while nylon 6 chip price moved higher.
Production and marketing rate of chemical fiber spinning plants all over the country was very low at the weekend, as sales pressure was prevailing. Polyester filament prices continued to decline on Monday.
Ex-factory offers of FDY from a major textile manufacturer in Shengze fell 2000 Yuan/ ton; offers of DTY, POY were temporarily stable. Another major manufacturer lowered its POY and DTY prices by 1,000 Yuan / ton, while, FDY price fell 1500 Yuan / ton.
In Taicang area, FDY filament generally fell 2000 Yuan / ton and DTY filament price also followed the trend. Polyester filament price in Tong Xiang region fell 500 Yuan / ton in general and offers of POY 150D/48F stood at 15,650 Yuan / ton.
Overall prices of polyester filament in Wuxi, Xiaoshan and Shaoxing areas also fell sharply. Less purchase interest from downstream sector puzzled polyester filament market, both upstream and downstream markets held strong wait-and-see mood.
Currently, in polyester filament market, there is a clear price inversion between distributors and manufacturers. Sales pressure of spinning factories has increased. Industry insiders believe that polyester filament market is difficult to get rid of a decline in the short term.
Overall price of viscose staple fiber was stable on Monday. Polyester staple fiber price appeared weak and market focus stood at 19,000 ton / ton.
Pure polyester yarn market weakened, prices of individual varieties fell, demand of 45s was better than others, but trade volume was small. Pure polyester yarn products are expected to show a decline trend.
