Ethylene moves up, MEG turns southwards

Paraxylene market stood in the range of US $1285-1290 / ton. Prices in Korean market were stable and offered around $1280-1285 / ton. Due to moderate market, PX price fundamentals remained more or less stable.

PTA prices remain unchanged in Asian market due to weak downstream demand. PTA price was quoted in the range of $1160-1165 / ton. In Chinese domestic market, PTA offers remained firm in the range of RMB 9550-9650 / ton.

Ethylene price increased in S E Asian and F E Asian market and was assessed at $1077 / ton and $1082 / ton, respectively. No change was recorded in European ethylene market as well and was quoted around $1110-1115 / ton and in European domestic market, price stood around €945 / ton.

MEG market moved southwards due to slack market sentiment. MEG offers in S E Asian market was in the range of $1025-1030 / ton. In Chinese international and domestic market, MEG offers were at $1025 / ton and RMB 8450 / ton, respectively.

Offers for BGPET Chip in S E Asian market were stable and price stood mainly in the range of $1515-1525 / ton. In export market, counteroffers were still in the range of $1490-1500 / ton. In Chinese domestic market, offers were further discussed around RMB 11500 / ton.

FGPET Chip was available around $1600 / ton, whereas offers were around $1615 / ton in S E Asian market.
