Small textile, clothing and footwear companies can receive up to $50,000 to turn their innovative ideas into reality under the Gillard Labor Government's TCF Small Business Program.
Innovation Minister, Senator Kim Carr invited small businesses to apply for grants under the program saying that up to $2.5 million was on offer.
“The Australian Government understands the importance of Australia's TCF manufacturing sector,” Senator Carr said.
“This program offers support for switched-on small businesses. It provides them with the opportunity to boost their competitiveness and productivity.”
Grants will be awarded to support projects in areas of mentoring, marketing and branding, supply chains, e-commerce and export opportunity development. Australian designers may also apply for grants if they manufacture in Australia.
"Our TCF industries contribute to the national economy by providing jobs for more than 45,000 Australians and adding to our valuable export earnings,” Senator Carr said.
“I believe the enterprising businesses that will be awarded these grants have the opportunity to become the next generation of Australia's world-beating manufacturers and designers.”
Applications for this round (Round 6) of the TCF Small Business Program are now open, and will close on 25 February 2011.
AusIndustry will run workshops nationally to assist businesses applying for the program in early February 2011.
This funding is part of Gillard Labor Government's $401 million TCF package.
