Mozambique's Cotton Institute (IAM) has recently revealed that the cotton campaign – 'Mozambican cotton 2009/2010' is likely to fetch revenues worth about US $27 million.
Under the campaign, the country aims to export 23,000 tons of cotton fibre which would generate revenues worth $24.5 million and it intends to make some $2.5 million by exporting 31,000 tons of seeds.
The country, by close of the third quarter, has generated revenue worth six million USD by exporting around 4,000 tons of cotton fibre.
A majority of the country's export of cotton fibres say almost 92 percent goes to Asia, while it exports seven percent of its produce to Africa and remaining one percent to Europe.
The IAM is anticipating a production of 61,000 tons of cotton fibre from the crop cultivated on 121,000 hectares of land, under this campaign.
