There has been a 60 percent rise in the produce of the cotton growers of Swaziland this year as over the last year.
In spite of this rise in production, the cotton growers still failed to fulfil the Spintex's annual demand of 5,000 tons of cotton. The Swaziland Cotton Board is motivating these cultivators to carry on with cotton cultivation by using appropriate techniques. The cotton prices also have increased this year as compared to past few years.
The farmers sell off their cotton to Spintex, which is beneficial for them as Spintex is a local company and therefore the cost of exporting the cotton to foreign markets is reduced to bare minimum.
