Chairman of the Pakistan Chemicals & Dyes Merchants Association – Muhammad Haroon Agar, has requested the Ministry of Commerce to formulate and implement some policy measures to do away with the offensive domination and cartelization of shipping lines or agents, saying that they charge unnecessary extra fees from importers as well as exporters under various categories.

While expressing his apprehension on the issue, he urged the government to take such practices, which are followed by the shipping lines or agents, under consideration.

He also said that, in spite of the government policy that gives impetus to trade, these shipping lines or agents do not pay any heed to the government policy and are firm on their authoritarian practices under which they charge undue fees from importers as well as exporters.

All these boost the trade expenses thereby causing monetary losses to importers and exporters, who play a vital role in the country's economy.
