After months of anticipation, Kimball Office is excited to announce the official launch of the company's new surface materials platform, beginning with the introduction of the new Vision collection of more than 70 panel and seating fabrics. Other surface materials, such as finishes, paints, laminates, and wood, will be introduced in the future. Kimball Office developed the platform with the help of Perkins+Will design principals Eva Maddox and Eileen Jones and their team.

"I believe this collection signifies a revolutionary change in the industry. The new material and surface platform supports Kimball Office's commitment to the production of sustainable products and the future of the furniture industry," said Eileen Jones, Design Principal at Perkins+Will.

Kimball Office's new platform simplifies the selection, ordering, and receiving process for clients, designers, and facility managers. "We wanted a solution that integrated all relevant information into one easy to navigate program. We consolidated our premium design aesthetic and basic coordinated offerings into a single reference point," said Allen Parker, Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Kimball Office.

The Vision collection includes a unique alliance of designer fabrics from Maharam, Carnegie, KnollTextiles, and Mayer Fabrics, which are complemented by Kimball Office's own in-line offerings. A focus was placed on identifying textiles with the design trends of today and tomorrow in mind, timeless classic colors, small, medium, and large patterns, solid textures, stripes, leather and faux leather. Additionally, 19 healthcare-specific fabrics are available, which include a variety of options with antimicrobial, bleach-cleanable, and moisture barrier attributes.

"Kimball Office wanted to ensure this was a successful collection. By turning to the industry's great textile resources, they have been able to develop a relevant and fresh surface materials platform that meets the needs of a wide range of audiences," said Eva Maddox, Design Principal at Perkins+Will.

The updated portfolio supports Kimball Office's dedication to sustainability, through the use of environmentally friendly and high-quality textiles from more than seven top industry mills. Most materials are crafted from recycled polyester or rapidly renewable materials such as cotton and wool. Nearly all of the fabric lines apply to Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) Indoor Advantage certification, and some meet McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry (MBDC) Cradle-to-Cradle certification.

A second portfolio, the Generations collection, will be used to ease existing customers into the Vision collection.
