Legends of APTMA Awards for leading textile businessmen

All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) is organizing an impressive gathering at the Presidency, Islamabad on 11th February 2011in connection with its annual dinner.

Also, the APTMA for the first time in its history is introducing the Legends of APTMA Awards for leading textile businessmen having given their best to the textile industry and business in a decade or so. President Asif Ali Zardari has graciously agreed to confer these awards to these legendary figures of textile industry during the annual dinner at the presidency.

The decision on the Legends of APTMA Awards was taken by the APTMA Managing Committee with central Chairman APTMA Gohar Ejaz in the chair the other day. Purpose of these awards is to acknowledge the efforts made by the legendary businessmen in promoting business activities in the country.

Chairman APTMA Gohar Ejaz said the happening of APTMA annual dinner at the presidency suggests the seriousness on the part of President Asif Ali Zardari in strengthening business environment in the country. He said President Asif Ali Zardari has time and again proved through his actions that he was a pro-industry, pro-growth and pro-people President of Pakistan.

Gohar also appreciated the efforts of Minister for Textile Industry Rana Farooq Saeed in steering the textile industry out of a string of crises, starting from availability of raw materials, energy and finances to the industry.

He expressed the hope that the APTMA members, in particular, and the business community of the country, in general, would gain strength out of the arrangements of APTMA annual dinner at the presidency.

Also, he said, it would send a signal to the international community that Pakistan government's top priority is promotion of business activities for collective well being of the people of Pakistan.
