J & K Handicraft Corp urged to attain set targets

Surjeet Singh Slathia, J&K State Minister for Industries and Commerce recently urged the administration and staff of the Jammu and Kashmir Handicraft (S&E) Corporation Limited to employ all their earnest efforts to realize the set targets.

As revealed in an official statement, the Minister, who is also associated with the Corporation in the capacity of Chairman of Board of Directors, made this appeal while speaking at a meeting of Corporation managers recently held at the Udyog Bhawan.

S.A Tak, Managing Director of the Corporation, revealed that the 12 branches of the Corporation situated in diverse parts of the country have attained sales turnover which are above the previous fiscal's turnover. Thus, with such good results, he urged the body to settle its dues such as gratuity, CP Fund and leave salary outstanding to the retired employees.

The Minister said that, the Corporation should strengthen its machine and man power so as to realize the set goals and ensure that all its issues are resolved by way of discussion with its planning and finance wings.

He even emphasized on raising the number of sales outlets all across the country and thus called for tracing the possible key locations for setting up new outlets, which would help the Corporation to boost its sales and thereby revenues.

Further, while commending the functioning of the Corporation, he stated that the meeting was held to grasp new ideas to attain the set targets and to decrease the Corporation's reliance on the budgetary allocation.
