A joint board comprising of representatives from both private and public sector will formulate various policies for giving more thrust to textile exports.
The Bureau of Textiles and Apparel Sector for Investment and Export (Rediex) under the Ministry of Industry and Commerce has recommended that there should be hike in textile production as well as exports to global markets, exploration of new market avenues and potential customers, careful observation of latest trends and technologies followed by other countries in the textile industry.
Manager of Rediex, Adriana Chaparro, said that both the public as well as the private sectors should join hands in order to encourage the industry's growth. He further added that Rediex is extending both commercial as well as technical projects this year.
Rediex is trying to target those projects which will provide Paraguay with an opportunity to take part in various exhibitions which are organized in countries like Brazil, Colombia and United States as well as in countries of Europe, where it can emerge as the major endorser of apparels.
The main objective of Rediex is to provide information related to quality and design, technical know-how to businesses in textile and apparel sectors in order to add value to the manufacturing processes and other services.
The bureau intends to enhance the competitiveness of the textile industry by procurement of quality certification, private recognition, organization of training programmes and accomplishment of global deals and assurance of greater impetus towards the endorsement of Paraguayan apparels.
