Chinese PTA market in wait & watch mode

All the domestic PTA markets in China were covered with waiting-and-seeing atmosphere and actual negotiation was light. However, prices of PTA in import markets rose marginally.

PTA market was stable in North China on March 3. Market offers stood around 11700-11750 Yuan / ton, while counteroffers from downstream sector were around 11,650 Yuan / ton, actually negotiated prices were around 11650-11700 Yuan / ton.

PTA market in East China was flat. Market offers were around 11,750 Yuan / ton, while counteroffers from downstream sector were around 11,650 Yuan / ton, actually negotiated price was around 11,700 Yuan / ton.

Spot market prices of PTA imports slightly rose. Offers for goods produced in Taiwan were around US $1,520 / ton, downstream inquiries were around US $1505 / ton, and actually negotiated prices were around US $1510-1515/ ton.

Offers for South Korean PTA were around US $1,500 / ton, downstream inquiries were around US $1,485 / ton; actually negotiated prices were around US $1490-1495/ ton. However sellers were reluctant sellers at low prices.
