Chinese markets of various textile materials were steady on Monday, March 14 with some products showing marginal rise. While PTA spot and semi-dull polyester chips and super bright polyester chips prices consolidated, MEG, CDP chip prices were stable. PET bottle chip price remained unchanged.
In cotton yarn market, pure polyester yarn prices remained stable, while rayon yarn price weakened. Viscose yarn, polyester / cotton yarn and other blended yarns witnessed little price movements with marginal trade volumes.
Polyester yarn market too was stable with 32s and 45s closing at 20,700 Yuan / ton and 21,500 Yuan / ton respectively. Buyers showed interest in cotton yarn 21s and 32s, there was not shown much interest in other specifications.
Rayon yarn 10s and 30s witnessed demand from various counters and is expected to consolidate further next week. Acrylic staple fiber 1.5D × 38mm, acrylic top 3D × 102mm were stable, CPL, nylon 6 chip prices moved little upwards.
At polyester filament counters, because of wait and watch policy, the market was stable and offers from Shengze, Tongxiang, Taicang were less. There was no bulk transaction at all. There was very little buying by downstream weaving sector too, resulting in decrease of prices and some varieties faced even increasing stock pressure.
While price of polyester staple fiber 1.4D × 38mm lowered to 14,800 Yuan / ton, viscose staple fiber was at 28,400 Yuan price / ton. A local factory offered POY75D/72F at 17,750 Yuan/ton (3-month acceptance) but some enterprises provided price concession in negotiation. Because of that, price was at same level. Another factory in Xiaoshan reduced its POY quotation by 200 Yuan/ ton and offered POY150D/144F at about 15,050 Yuan /ton.
