Textile Design Exhibition by PAF in Panipat

Textiles, with its different hues and textures, can bring to life a design in a plethora of ways. To showcase the way textiles can bring a new dimension to homes, Pearl Academy of Fashion (PAF) recently organized a one-day Textile Design Exhibition on “Imperative Design Solutions for the Home Furnishing Industry” at the Nirula's Hotel in Panipat.

The exhibition showcased the creativity and innovation of the Textile Designers at Pearl Academy of Fashion through their respective representations including Core Textile Techniques in Prints, Surface ornamentation, Weaves and Knits in form of Innovative Home Textiles. The exhibition was targeted at textile industry professionals and entrepreneurs, textile designers from the export and retail segment, creative directors and product development heads, merchandisers and marketing professionals.

Ms. Seema Mahajan, HOD, Textile Design, Pearl Academy of Fashion said, “It is a great pleasure to organize an exhibition at the hub of India's home furnishing industry. Our objective is to showcase customised design solutions for the industry and cater to the different needs of the small and medium level exporters and retailers. We hope to encourage and promote design and development approach in industries that will create distinction and product differentiation. Anyone with a creative mind from the textile field will benefit from this exhibition.”

The textile industry in India has undergone a renaissance of change in recent years, with new technologies and innovations changing the landscape of the entire sector. Change and opportunities have however brought upon new challenges that need to be addressed and turned into new areas of growth.

Panipat is renowned the world over for its home furnishing industry. Pearl Academy being a leading design and research oriented institution, has partnered with various corporate and export houses to understand and anticipate the needs of the highly competitive and rapidly evolving home furnishing sector.

This Textile exhibition is focused on the interests and needs of the Panipat home furnishing industry, and includes innovative ideas such as fabric swatches with technical and design details.
