After having maintained stability for the last three days of the previous week, the opening day of the current week began on a good note for Shankar–6 raw cotton prices.
Shankar-6 prices climbed marginally by just under a percent to Rs 59,875 per candy on Monday from Rs 59,375 per candy, touched on the last day of the previous week.
On Tuesday, it augmented further by Rs 125 and touched the psychological barrier of Rs 60,000 per candy, last seen on February 10.
The following day, the prices continued their upward march and rose to Rs 60,625 per candy, up by just a shade over one percent, from a day ago.
However, on Thursday, Shankar-6 cotton prices slipped by Rs 125 to fall to Rs 60,500 per candy and stayed stable at the same price on Friday too.
Considering the closing prices of the previous Friday and yesterday, Shankar-6 prices gained by 1.89 percent.
