The cotton cultivators in southern inland of Queensland would soon get engaged in harvesting the highest cotton produce of over past 10 years.
Though massive rains in the Balonne Shire have caused extensive harm, but then the rains have also left back in the region, plenty of water, with which the region's overall cotton production for the current season is anticipated to be around 600,000 bales.
The region has been looking ahead to attain these heights in crop production for over a decade, and hence has always been anxiously gazing at the sky for good rains.
However, no one in the region ever desires the massive rains which some of the regions in the country have been experiencing for last two years. The want was always for moderate, relatively pleasant weather during cotton harvesting season.
However, the ample crop production is certain to provide a long awaited lift to the region's fortunes.
