FilSpec Inc takes great pleasure in announcing that Peter J. Hegarty has been named Vice-President of Global Business Development for Filspec and Richmond Specialty Yarns.

FilSpec Inc is the largest spinning mill in Canada and is located in Sherbrooke, Quebec. The company has ring, open end, air jet and core spinning and produces single fiber or blended fiber yarns in natural or in heathers. It has special emphasis on aramid yarns for military and protection end uses.

Richmond Specialty Yarns, which was acquired in 2009, is FilSpec's subsidiary, located in Ellerbe, North Carolina.

This is a ring spinning facility with emphasis on spun synthetic fibers yarns for multiple end use markets. The Richmond facility is capable of producing CAFTA and BERRY/KISSEL compliant yarns. FilSpec believes the addition of Richmond adds to its ability to serve the growing and demanding yarn requirements of the Americas.

Jean Parenteau, President and COO, says “We are very pleased that Peter has joined us and we look forward to having him working with us. This appointment is evidence of our commitment to growing our share of the specialty yarn markets in the Americas. We wish him well in his new responsibilities.”

Prior to this appointment, Peter served as President of Tuscarora Yarns Inc of Mt. Pleasant, NC.
