The International OEKO-TEX Association will offer a free online presentation on Wednesday, April 6th at 12:00 Noon EST that reviews the OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and its relevance to the Consumer Products Safety Commission's (CPSC) Children's Products Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) for textile products intended for use by children.
The OEKO-TEX Standard 100, which tests textile products to ensure they are free from harmful levels of dangerous substances such as lead, formaldehyde and phthalates, is acknowledged by the CPSC as evidence that certified textile products meet the new law's requirements. The webinar will also review OEKO-TEX's strategies to help ensure compliance with other critical regulations such as REACh. The OEKO-TEX webinar is offered free of charge to textile manufacturers, brands, and retailers and members of the media.
Dr. Sam Moore, who represents The International OEKO-TEX Association in the US, will be the keynote speaker. Dr. Moore will interpret the impact of the CPSIA regulations on textile manufacturers, sourcers, and retailers. He will provide guidance on ensuring compliance throughout the complex global supply chain including the role textile certification can play in simplifying those compliance efforts. Dr. Moore will also take questions from webinar participants.
