Japanese shuttle-less loom exports grow three-fold

Japans exports of shuttle-less looms rose to almost double in terms of volume during 2010, over exports of 16,329 looms in 2009, said a trade data released by the Japanese Ministry of Finance. Value-wise, exports grew almost three times to 49.98 billion Yen.
Apart from hearty growth in exports to its key market – China, those to India and Indonesia too witnessed a sharp rise during the period.
As the capital investments gained back the momentum, exports to China grew by about three times, both in terms of value and volume to 31.96 billion Yen and 10,415 looms respectively.
Meanwhile, export-volumes to India registered a rise of 49.7 percent to 1,594 looms, with a rise of 124.7 percent in the export-value to 5.68 billion Yen.
Exports to Indonesia too shoot by 142 percent to 743 looms, with a fivefold rise in the export-value to 2.02 billion Yen.
However, exports to Pakistan registered negative growth with a fall of 4.2 percent in volume to 587 looms, but still the export-value showed a rise of 257.3 percent and climbed to 2.05 billion Yen.
Apart from the Asian markets, export to Brazil increased by 161.1 percent to 376 looms, with a 168.2 percent rise in the export-value, to touch 1.52 billion Yen.
