In 2010, Hong Kong has emerged as the biggest destination for China's cotton yarn exports. China exported 310,800 tons of cotton yarn to Hong Kong contributing 59 percent in China's total cotton yarn exports.
Though China's exports to Hong Kong declined 7.34 percent on year to year basis, it remained the favorite spot for Chinese cotton yarn enterprises.
In the list, Hong Kong was followed by South Korea, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Italy with shares of 10 percent, 5 percent, 3 percent and 2 percent respectively.
China's exports to South Korea, Bangladesh and Italy registered growth rates of 20 percent, 30 percent and 44.68 percent respectively. Its exports to Malaysia declined 37.5 percent on year to year basis.
In price calculations, per unit price of China's exports to Hong Kong and South Korea was at par with the average price of its cotton yarn exports. On the other hand, unit prices to Bangladesh and Italy were 12.33 percent and 65.58 percent higher than China's average price of cotton yarn exports. For exports to Malaysia, it was 15.12 percent lower than China's average export price.
