Ineos, which manages and operates an ethylene plant at Alvin in Texas, USA has reported a disruption in production at the Chocolate Bayou petrochemical unit.
According to the company, the olefins-1 plant was shut due to a technical problem in the p-rich feed unit, which affected two furnaces, producing ethylene.
Ineos has said that they are trying their best to resume normal operations at the earliest.
The Chocolate Bayou petrochemical plant of Ineos is considered to be one of the largest hydrocarbon crackers in the US and has two olefins units.
