Chinese textile & clothing exports mount in Jan-April

In the first four months of 2011, China's exports of traditional commodities achieved steady growth, of which total exports from the textile and apparel sector touched US $68.5 billion.
Of this, clothing and accessory exports registered US $39.57 billion, up 22.9 percent year on year and textile shipments reached US $28.93 billion, an increase of 34 percent.
In the same period, footwear exports scored US $11.9 billion, a rise of 22.9 percent year on year.
