A Switzerland-based consultancy firm will guide Ethiopian textile and garment firms on how they can draw closer to global standards, and contribute in taking the country's textile export earnings to one billion dollars by fiscal year 2014-15.
Gherzi, a consultancy operating in the field of textiles, apparel, and fashion, has conducted a benchmark study of the difficulties that the domestic Ethiopian textile firms face.
Besides, Gherzi even carried out a gap analysis and devised an action plan for implementation. A team of 25 textile and garment industry experts from Gherzi would implement the action plan on seven domestic textile and garment producing units.
Gherzi proposes to implement this project over the next six months, in association with the Ministry of Industry (MOI).
On the conclusion of the project, the exercise is expected to enhance the efficiency of the factories to help them draw closer to world standards.
