IIFT congratulates 'Babuji' for Creating History

International Institute of Fashion Technology (IIFT) had arranged Small Felicitation program Mr Govind Sarawagi (Chairman of Laxmipati Sarees) for receiving Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Award by All India Unity Conference, New Delhi on 20 May 2010. The programme was successfully completed with the presence of Mr. Lajpatrai Dogra, Mr. Anil Agarwal and other invitees from the Textile Industry, Surat.

Humble gentlemen gave new voice to “Laxmipati Sarees” by receiving Indira Gandhi Priya Darshini Award

Surat is blessed to have great sons of the soil. Even though many of them are not born here, they have made Surat as their karmabhoomi. One such son, on whom the modern history of the city prides itself, is business tycoon Mr Govind Sarawgi (Babuji), a textile monarch who is truly a jewel in the crown of Textile city. And now again Mr Govind Sarawagi (Chairman of Laxmipati Sarees) has given a new voice to his firm in the entire nation by receiving Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Award for excellent Contribution in Textile Processing Units and social work by all India Unity Conference, New Delhi.

Mr. Pankaj Goyal, Mr. Manish Garg who are Textile owners and members of IIFT welcomed the honorable guest, Mr. Govind Sarawagi (popularly known as “Babuji”) with bouquet and few words of thanks. Mr. Anil Agarwal, Mr. Dhinesh Khandelwal owner and Mr Lajpatrai Dogra (Textile owners from surat city ), described about the kind of personality Mr Govind Sarawagi is. “Mr Govind is very humble, dedicated person and man of simplicity”said by all members.

“Success has not carried him away. These are the feelings you will get in to your mind at the first glance of him said by Mr. Govind Sarawgi. Though the chairman of “Laxmipati Saree”, M/s Siddhi Vinayak Knots & Prints Pvt Ltd, Surat and Managing Committee Member in Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industries, hardness of his profession has not affected his personality. A soft spoken person who believes in hard work and unity in whatever work you do”, said by three gentlemen.

During the Programme Mr Anupam Goyal, Center Head of IIFT, Surat described about the new curriculum and relevance of the Fashion Designing course in the Market, which gave exposure to the invitees. All the invitees were happy to see the work done by IIFt students and the kind of attitude and passion they carry for career.

Students of IIFT probe questions to “Babbuji” and Mr Lajpatrai Dogra and they made them aware about many things related to Textile processing house, how students can fit into the textile industry, the career opportunities available in the Embroidery Industry and how to develop their inherent talent and creativity.Also the important point that all All the Guests present at the program said was to have “Patience” in whatever work they do. This statement boosted the confidence of all the IIFtians.

At the end,it was the time for the guest to say few words .Mr Govind Sir Thanked the IIFt institute for inviting him for the Felicitation program. During the speech Govind Sir appreciated the “IIFT Institute” course and curriculum, the kind of work and future professionals IIft Can produce by its practical exposure to the industry. He also gave credit to MrLajpatrai Dogra for supporting him in his his throught career and his wife.
Finally the programme ended with vote of thanks By Mr Ashok Kumar Goyal, Director of IIFT Institute by presenting momento to the Honorable Chief guest.

All the IIftians felt great to have such eminent personality at the Institute and they hearlty congratulates for receiving this great Award. 3 cheers to humble man !!
