Grand opening of AMANN Sewing Threads site

With an extensive and glamorous program the Grand Opening of AMANN's world's most modern production site AMANN Sewing Threads (Yancheng) has taken place on 05 + 06 May 2011 in China.

Numerous national and international guests – managers of the sewing and embroidery industry, customers, governmental representatives as well as lots of AMANN employees – took part in the festivities.

The successful show was dedicated to the motto “We connect”. This idea was visible as the central theme throughout the 1 ½ exciting days and could be sensed in every detail. The atmosphere of all events was influenced by the link between tradition and innovation. Special highlights have been the popular tours through the new production site and in particular the evening show with the official opening by the supervisory board chairman Hanns A. Pielenz and AMANN CEO Bodo Th. Boelzle. The show was accompanied by impressive musical acts as well as excellent culinary specialities of a German-Chinese Team.

The opening of AMANN Sewing Threads (Yancheng) is the last milestone of a project which begun in 2005 as market study and reached its first peak with the opening of the twisting facility AMANN Twisting (Yancheng) in 2010. With a capacity of 2,700 tons per year it produces threads made of high-tensile polyester and polyamide ever since. Bringing into operation the finishing and make-up devices now, the AMANN GROUP provides to its customers a fully integrated production in Asia.

AMANN Sewing Threads (Yancheng) - our world's most modern production works – comprises a fully-automated dyeworks to the very latest standard, can carry out all the different processing steps, right through to customer-specific finishing, with a capacity of 3,000 tonnes per year. Based on our many years of experience, the sewing threads are processed further into a wide range of final finishes and make-ups. These steps are carried out exclusively on top-quality European processing machines and according to the high AMANN quality standard.

This way, AMANN combines 150 years of tradition and experience with one of the most innovative growth markets in the world and further extends its global presence. This future oriented step provides optimal product and service availability to the Asian textile centres and contributes to the fulfilment of customer requirements. To further strengthen the far East markets, new project are in the realization phase, new production sites in Bangladesh and India amongst them.

The opening of AMANN Sewing Threads (Yancheng) was one of the most impressive highlights in the long history of the company – not least because of the very positive feedback from guests and participants and due to the excellent international cooperation of the teams – across all borders.
