The eighth edition of the Fabrics and Accessories Trade Show (F&A Show) at Bangalore was inaugurated by AP Joshi, Textile Commissioner, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.

The F&A show is the place where important people belonging to the textile value chain meet to develop business contacts and source the complete range of textile material that they require for garmenting.

The show is aimed at bringing the producers and suppliers of trims, apparel fabrics, embellishments and service from all over the country under one roof.

F &A trade fair is the only show of its kind in Bangalore, which attracts elite trade visitors from South-East Asia, US, Asia and Europe, making it a prime networking destination for sourcing.

Mr. AP Joshi, while addressing the people present at the inaugural ceremony, drew attention towards various programmes like Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS) launched by the Ministry of Textiles. He said that the advantage of this scheme, which has inspired many, can be availed till 2012.

He further said that as small scale industries like jute, cotton ginning, and pressing greatly contribute to the textile industry, there is a need to boost these industries. He even underscored the need for skill development programmes for the apparel industry.

By showcasing their products at the fair, the companies could greatly benefit as they stand a chance to exhibit their goods before several top-notch buyers. Following last year's success, the event is once again uniting the textile value chain leaders to voice and discuss the grave issues of the textile and clothing sector through the Business Networking Forum (BNF).

Leading producers have launched their new products or collections at this year's much awaited Forum (BNF), while eminent speakers took up topics for discussion that concern the textile sector.
