EU imports of textile & clothing from China skyrocket

Imports of textile and apparel to the European Union from China, achieved US $3.59 billion in April, an increase of 43.8 percent year on year.
Of which, textile imports registered US $1.1 billion, an increase of 34 percent and clothing imports completed $2.49 billion, a rise of 49 percent year on year.
From January to April, textile and apparel imports to the EU from China totaled US $13.88 billion, up 26.4 percent year on year.
Of which, textile imports recorded US $3.82 billion, a growth of 26.3 percent, while garment imports marked $10.06 billion, an increase of 26.4 percent.
Unit price of imports to the EU maintained rapid growth, of which unit price of yarn rose 50 percent year on year, while unit prices of knitted and woven garments rose 23 percent year on year.
