Construction of a textile mill in Nigeria’s Edo state is in an advanced stage, executive governor Godwin Obaseki announced recently. The mill is part of his administration’s efforts to make the state the country’s fabric and textile headquarters, he told representatives from the National Union of Textile, Tailoring and Garment Workers of Nigeria in Benin City.
Obaseki was optimistic of creating a textile production centre in the state with 24-hour electricity and bringing all those in the value chain together, according to information posted on the governor’s website.
