The EPCC contracts for LLDPE and EOEG plants were signed between Petronas and a consortium of Samsung Engineering, Samsung C&T and Samsung Engineering (M).
The EPCC contract for PP was signed between Petronas and a consortium of Tecnimont, Huanqiu Contracting & Engineering, TECNIMONTHQC and TecnimontHQC S.c.a.r.l.
The three plants are expected to be completed by early 2019. Upon completion, the LLDPE plant will be able to produce 350,000 metric tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LLDPE, the EOEG plant will produce 740,000 mtpa of Monoethylene Glycol (MEG) and the PP plant will produce 900,000 mtpa of homopolymer and copolymer polypropylene.
The contracts were signed in a signing ceremony held at the Petronas Twin Towers.
The three petrochemical plants will help serve the company's goal of developing an integrated refinery and petrochemical complex – Pengerang Integrated Complex (PIC) – by early 2019. (MCJ)
