Q3 earnings from continuing operations down 16% at Ashland

For its third fiscal quarter ended June 30, 2016, earnings from continuing operations at specialty chemicals producer Ashland was down 16 per cent from a year ago quarter, to $97 million, or $1.55 per share.

The company said its adjusted earnings from continuing operations grew 2 per cent year over year to $122 million, or $1.95 per diluted share.

However, net income was massively down by $36 million from the earlier fiscal's third quarter to $71 million in the reporting quarter at the US based company.

For the quarter under review, adjusted EBITDA reached $294 million, while adjusted EBITDA margin was 22.8 per cent, up 160bps over the same quarter of prior fiscal. (AR)
