Pakistan’s Punjab state government has planned to offer subsidy of millions of rupees on approved varieties of cotton seed bags under the ‘Khadim-e-Punjab Kissan’ package. Registered farmers from Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Vehari, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, DG Khan, Layyah, Muzaffargarh and Rajanpur districts will benefit from the subsidy.

Punjab chief minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif issued special directives for the subsidy. The approved varieties of cotton are IUB-2013, FH-142, FH- Lalazar and MNH-886. (DS)
